Anthony, who doubles as the secretary of the Joint Action Committee of NLC in the state, told DAILY POST that despite the increase in the cost of living, their salaries have remained the same. He averred that the government must do something to salvage the situation. “The removal of the fuel subsidy is biting hard on all of us; the economy has been biting since the advent of this administration. Nigerian workers are not happy. We may be working, but we are working on pretence. Our salary, which is called “take home,” cannot even take us to Mile 3 Park, let alone to my village in Emohua. “As it’s happening here in Rivers State, it is happening in all 36 states, including the Federal Capital Territory,” he said.
